The cut
Emerald, in detail
-
A step cut shows everything
Long parallel facets act like windows into the stone. Inclusions and colour that a brilliant cut would disguise are plainly visible here, so clarity matters more on an emerald cut than on any other shape.
-
You are buying clarity, not fire
Emerald cuts give broad, slow flashes of light rather than fine scintillation. If sparkle is the priority this is the wrong shape. If restraint and clean geometry are the priority, nothing else does it as well.
-
Ratio changes the character
Around 1.30 to 1.40 is the classic range. Squarer stones read more architectural, closer to an Asscher. Longer stones read more elongating on the hand.
Made to order
Yours, in your stone and your metal
Every design on this page is made for you after you order it, which is why you are not limited to the metal in the photograph. Choose the stone and the metal, and our bench does the rest.
