The piece
About this design
A cushion is the old mine cut brought up to date — a square with its corners and sides rounded off, so it catches light in bigger, softer blocks than a modern round does. The rim follows those rounded sides exactly, which doubles down on the softness. It is the least severe of the geometric cuts and the one people reach for when they want something with a bit of age to it.

Both start square. A princess keeps sharp corners and sharp faceting for a crisp, modern look; a cushion rounds the corners and the facets, giving softer, wider flashes and a distinctly antique feel. Side by side they read as two quite different pieces of jewelry.
Its broad, soft facets are more forgiving of the odd inclusion than an emerald cut's open steps, yes. That said, ours are VS clarity, so this is not something you will be relying on.
No. This is the pendant on its own. The chain you see in the photographs is there to show how the piece hangs and is not part of the order. Most people already have a chain they like, and the bail is made to take an ordinary cable or box chain, so you can simply thread it onto that. If you would rather buy one with it, message us before you order and we will sort it out.
Use the size options on this page as the guide — the comparison photograph shows every size we make side by side, and there are shots of each one worn on the neck, so you can see what actually sits where. A cushion carries more of its weight in depth than an oval, so it looks slightly smaller face-on than a spread cut of the same size. The price updates as you change the option, so you can find the point where the look and the budget meet.
A lab grown diamond is chemically a diamond — same hardness, same look — and ours come EF color, VS clarity, with an IGI certificate. Moissanite is a different stone that is nearly as hard and throws noticeably more rainbow fire. It costs a good deal less. Neither is a fake; they are two different stones, and the price difference shows on the page as you switch.

A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat ships with its own IGI report. Accent stones and moissanite are not certified.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
