The piece
About this design
A cushion has softly rounded corners and a pillowed outline, and a bezel traces that curve exactly — so instead of four prongs breaking up a gentle shape, you get one smooth gold line following it the whole way round. The result is quieter and more modern than a cushion usually looks, and considerably more practical. The stone sits low, the corners are completely enclosed, and there is nothing raised anywhere on the ring to catch on anything.

Particularly well. The rounded corners give the metal a continuous curve to follow, of the sharp turns a square stone forces. The two shapes work together rather than against each other.
Bigger facets and bigger flashes. A round gives fine busy glitter; a cushion sends slower, broader bursts of light. If a round has ever felt too sharp to you, this is the cut to try.
Noticeably. A cushion in prongs reads vintage; the same stone in a clean bezel reads contemporary and architectural. It is a good option if you love the cut but not the antique styling that usually comes with it.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
