The piece
About this design
A woven band under a heart is an old idea — two strands crossing over and over, running the full circle with no beginning and no end — and it is executed here with real weight rather than as a novelty. Each opening in the weave holds a marquise-shaped diamond, each crossing point a small round one bezel-set flush, and a concealed halo sits beneath the centre setting throwing light up into the stone. The heart is held by a V-prong at the point and slim claws on the lobes, cleft left open. Inside, the band is smooth, polished and stamped with the Driona D.

The weave is what earns it. Crossed strands running unbroken around the finger is a symbol people have used for centuries, and executed at this weight with this much stone work it reads as a serious ring, not a sentimental one.
Symmetry. The lobes should match each other, the cleft should be sharp and clearly defined, and the outline should mirror down the centre line. A lopsided heart is visible from across a room.
Sitting under the stone rather than around it. It lifts the heart slightly, lights it from below, and shows as a ring of small stones from the side — while the outline stays a clean heart from above, which is the whole point of the shape.
It is the busiest ring we make and a heart is already a strong shape, so this is a bold pairing. If you love both it works; if you want the heart to be the single focus, a plainer vintage band will serve you better.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
