About this design
Adding a row of pavé to a solitaire does something a bigger centre stone cannot: it carries the sparkle down the finger instead of stopping it at the setting. Here a single row of tiny round diamonds runs along both shoulders and down the sides of the band, shared-prong set so almost no metal shows between them. The effect makes the radiant cut above read wider and higher than it would on a bare band. The underside is left plain, so nothing presses into the palm.

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to get that effect. The row of small diamonds extends the line of sparkle outward, so the eye reads the whole top of the ring as one bright surface rather than a single stone sitting on bare metal.
Shared-prong pavé like this is the more secure style, because each bead of metal grips two stones at once rather than one. Have the setting checked once a year, as you would with any prong-set ring, and it will stay tight for decades.
Comfort and practicality. Stones on the palm side press into the finger, wear against everything you touch, and make resizing far harder. Leaving that section plain gives you the look of those problems.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.
