About this design
A pear cut diamond is set east west across a rounded band, with two small round diamonds sunk flush into the metal on each shoulder. The accents sit completely level with the surface, so running a finger along the band feels smooth apart from the centre setting itself. The pear's point is held by a single claw at the side, keeping the top of the stone clear.

Each accent is sunk into a drilled seat so nothing sits above the metal. There is no prong to bend or catch, which makes it one of the most hard wearing ways to set a small stone.
Set east west the stone follows the width of the finger, which reads as wider on the hand and lowers the overall profile compared with a point up setting.
They catch light from directly above rather than the sides, so they read as bright points rather than full sparkle — the effect is deliberate and understated.
The domed band sits close to the finger and the shoulders are smooth, so it stacks against a plain band without rubbing.
The tip is covered by a claw on the outer edge. As with any pear, avoid knocking that end against hard surfaces.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
