About this design
An oval is the shape to choose when you want the biggest look for your budget. Because the weight is spread along the stone rather than buried in its depth, an oval covers noticeably more finger than a round of the same weight — and set lengthways like this, it makes the whole hand look longer and slimmer. Four claw prongs hold it clear of a narrow ribbed band, fluted on the outside and polished smooth against the skin.

Yes, and measurably so. An oval spreads its weight across a wider face-up surface instead of holding it in the depth, so at the same weight it presents a visibly larger stone. It is the most efficient shape if size is what you are after.
That is exactly what it does. The long axis runs with the finger and the eye follows that line, which lengthens and slims the hand. It is the shape most often recommended for shorter fingers.
A faint darker band across the centre that some ovals show depending on how they are cut. It varies stone to stone and is a normal characteristic of the shape rather than a fault.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
