About this design
Four squared V prongs, one folded over each corner of the stone, and nothing else — no accents, no gallery detail, no engraving. On a princess cut the corners are the vulnerable part and also the part that defines the outline, so a V prong does two jobs at once: it armours the corner and it squares the silhouette off sharply instead of rounding it away. The band is slim, rounded and left completely bare.

Questions about this piece
The things customers ask us most about this exact design.
The four corners are where the stone is thinnest and where a knock does damage. A V prong wraps the corner in metal on both faces instead of resting a round claw near it — it is the correct way to set a square cut and it is not always done.
The opposite. With nothing else on the finger, the eye has only the stone to look at, so a princess cut on a bare band reads bigger than the same stone on a busy one. It is also the easiest style to pair with any wedding band later.
Differently rather than less. A round brilliant gives fine scattered fire; a princess throws broader flashes from its larger facets. Set with nothing around it, that bolder pattern is much more visible.
Slightly, because the corners hold colour where a round brilliant would scatter it. At EF colour there is nothing there to see — these are in the top colour band, and in a yellow gold setting the warmth you notice is the metal, not the stone.
That is exactly what the V prongs are there to prevent. Each corner is capped in metal that sits slightly proud of the stone, so the prong takes the contact instead of the diamond. Unprotected princess corners are what people get caught on — these are not.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
