The piece
About this design
Two strands cross over and over down the length of this band: one is set with small round diamonds, the other is left as polished gold. That contrast is the whole idea — the metal strand gives your eye somewhere to rest, so the diamond strand reads brighter than a fully set band ever would. The oval sits high above the twist in double claws, lifted just clear of the pattern so nothing competes with it.

Questions about this piece

It does not. The strands are rounded on the outside and the inside of the band is a smooth continuous surface — your finger never touches the twist. It wears like a plain band with a much more interesting profile.
A curved or shaped wedding band follows the twist beautifully. A straight band will sit against the high points with a small gap, which many people like the look of — tell us at checkout and we can shape one to match.
Because setting both flattens the effect. The polished strand reflects gold light while the set strand throws white sparkle, and the eye reads the contrast as more brilliant than an all-over pave band.
The diamond-set strand rises over the top of the finger on both sides of the stone, so the sparkle is what people see. The polished strand runs underneath and towards your palm, where the extra metal gives the band its strength.
Most people worry about the bow tie — a dark band across the middle of a badly proportioned oval. We cut ours to avoid it, so the stone stays bright right through the centre. Ask us for photographs of your actual stone before it is set and we will send them.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
