The piece
About this design
A heart cut only works if the outline is clean, so everything here is arranged to keep it visible. A V-prong takes the point and slim claws sit on the two lobes, leaving the cleft at the top completely open — cover that and the stone stops reading as a heart at all. The band below carries a continuous acanthus scroll in relief with milgrain along both edges, which keeps the ring from tipping into anything childish: the shape is romantic, the metalwork is antique and serious. Inside, the band is smooth, polished and stamped with the Driona D.

Questions about this piece
The things customers ask us most about this exact design.
Look at the two lobes and the cleft between them. On a good heart the lobes match each other, the cleft is sharp and distinct, and the outline is symmetrical when you split it down the middle. A lopsided heart is obvious at arm's length and no setting will hide it.
It helps. The outline is what people recognise, and the smaller sizes in the dropdown read more like a rounded stone from a distance. If the heart shape is the point of the ring, take a step up the size list — with lab grown that step costs a fraction of what it would elsewhere.
Not on this band. The scroll engraving and milgrain give it the look of an inherited ring rather than a novelty piece, and the stone sits low enough to live under a coat sleeve without catching.
It is where the shape came from. Hearts were a Victorian and Edwardian favourite long before they became a modern novelty, and on a hand-engraved band the cut reads as a period piece rather than as a valentine.
The V-prong is what stops that. It caps the tip so the metal, not the diamond, meets anything the ring brushes against, and it keeps knitwear from snagging on a bare corner.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
