We discussed the diamond’s colour, proportions and setting details, and I really appreciated the personal attention he gave to my preferences.

About this design
A square cushion diamond in four double claws is framed by a halo of small round diamonds. Under the halo, curved gold arches rise from the post to hold the setting, forming an open cathedral basket that you can see from the side. The arches lift the stone and let light in, and screw backs keep the studs secure.

This pair is lifted on curved arches and sits a little higher. Our other square cushion halo stud uses straight crossing bars under the stone.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
