The piece
About this design
A pear needs its point handled, so this one gets a V-shaped claw folded over the tip and rounded claws at the shoulders and the bulb. That is the traditional answer and it still looks the best: the stone is properly held, but the outline stays open and you see the full taper of the cut. Point up, it draws the eye towards the face.

It is the setting the trade uses for pointed cuts precisely because it is. The claw folds over both faces of the tip and shields it from the sides, so the thin part of the stone never takes a direct hit. If you want the tip covered completely, the bezel version encloses it in gold.
Point up, which is the usual orientation and the more flattering one on a neck. If you would rather have it point down, say so in the order notes before we begin — it is made to order, so it is not a problem.
No. This is the pendant on its own. The chain you see in the photographs is there to show how the piece hangs and is not part of the order. Most people already have a chain they like, and the bail is made to take an ordinary cable or box chain, so you can simply thread it onto that. If you would rather buy one with it, message us before you order and we will sort it out.
Use the size options on this page as the guide — the comparison photograph shows every size we make side by side, and there are shots of each one worn on the neck, so you can see what actually sits where. A pear is long for its weight, so much of what you notice is the shape rather than the size. The price updates as you change the option, so you can find the point where the look and the budget meet.
Yellow gold warms a white diamond and reads richer against most skin. White gold and platinum disappear against the stone, so the diamond does all the talking. Rose gold sits between the two and looks softer. Silver keeps the same look for far less. Whichever you pick is solid metal all the way through, never plated, so it will not wear back to another color.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
