About this design
Four claws at the cut corners, which is exactly where an emerald cut wants to be held — those corners are already bevelled, so the claws sit into them instead of onto a sharp edge. The long step facets are left completely open, and because the cut works by reflecting in broad sheets rather than sparkling, keeping metal off the sides matters more here than on a brilliant.

An emerald cut has its corners cut off at an angle already, which leaves a small flat facet at each one. A claw seats into that facet securely without gripping a sharp edge. Setting on the long flat sides instead would be far less stable.
Honestly, no — not if sparkle is the main thing you are after. It gives wide, slow flashes rather than fire, and looks glassy and clean rather than busy. If you want maximum sparkle, take the round or the cushion. If you want that calm Art Deco look, nothing else does it.
No. This is the pendant on its own. The chain you see in the photographs is there to show how the piece hangs and is not part of the order. Most people already have a chain they like, and the bail is made to take an ordinary cable or box chain, so you can simply thread it onto that. If you would rather buy one with it, message us before you order and we will sort it out.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
