G to J diamonds look white to the naked eye, with only a trace of warmth visible when compared side-by-side with colourless stones. Excellent value for their appearance.
Inclusions visible under magnification and sometimes faintly to the naked eye. Choosing well-placed inclusions makes these stones excellent value.
Carat measures a diamond's weight, not its size — 1 carat equals 0.20 grams. Price rises steeply with carat weight because larger rough crystals are much rarer. How large a stone looks face-up also depends on its shape and cut proportions: elongated shapes like oval, pear and marquise appear larger than a round diamond of the same weight.
