D to F diamonds are completely colourless — the rarest and highest colour grades. They show a pure icy-white appearance in any setting.
Inclusions so tiny that even a trained grader struggles to find them under 10x magnification. To the naked eye, the diamond is perfectly clean.
Carat measures a diamond's weight, not its size — 1 carat equals 0.20 grams. Price rises steeply with carat weight because larger rough crystals are much rarer. How large a stone looks face-up also depends on its shape and cut proportions: elongated shapes like oval, pear and marquise appear larger than a round diamond of the same weight.
