Pavé sets small stones close together in tiny beads of metal so the band itself throws light. It is the difference between a ring that sparkles at one point and one that sparkles along its length.

Think about resizing before you buy
Stones set around the full circumference limit how far a ring can be sized later. A band set only across the top leaves room for a jeweller to work and is the more practical choice if your size may change.

Bead quality is everything
Well cut pavé shows almost no metal between stones and every bead is the same size. Uneven beadwork is the most common flaw in cheap pavé and it is very visible in daylight.
