The piece
About this design
The halo here is built from individually claw set round diamonds rather than pave, each one raised on its own tiny gallery so there is gold and shadow visible between the stones. They graduate in size, largest at the top and bottom of the oval and smaller along the sides. That construction is closer to an antique cluster than a modern halo and gives the head a slightly domed profile.

Pave stones sit in a shared bed of metal with tiny shared beads. Here each stone has its own claws and its own gallery, so light passes between them and the halo looks less solid.
Yes. The larger stones at top and bottom stretch the outline lengthways, which reinforces the oval rather than rounding it out.
It has a domed profile, so it sits higher than a flat pave halo and is more likely to catch on a coat sleeve.
Each stone has open space beneath it, which means it does collect but also rinses out easily — brush from underneath as well as the top.
Antique. The individual claws and visible metal between the stones are how cluster rings were built historically, rather than the seamless look of modern pave.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
