The piece
About this design
A square emerald cut — often called an Asscher-style step cut — takes the long parallel facets of an emerald and compresses them into equal sides, so the light staircases inward toward the centre instead of running lengthways. Framed in a bezel, the effect is a perfect square within a square: two clean geometries stacked, sitting low and flat on the finger. It is the most Art Deco ring in the range and the most graphic to look at.

The facets run to equal sides rather than along a length, so the light steps inward toward the centre and creates that hall-of-mirrors effect looking straight down. It is a more graphic, more symmetrical version of the same cutting style.
They are very close relatives. Both are square step cuts with cropped corners; the differences are in facet count and how deep the steps are cut. Visually they belong to the same family.
It shows more than a brilliant cut would, which is exactly why stone quality matters in step cuts. Every one we set is VS clarity, chosen to stay clean to the naked eye through that open table.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
