About this design
A bezel wraps a continuous collar of solid metal around the whole edge of the stone instead of gripping it with prongs. That makes this the most secure setting we make and the one with nothing to catch — no claws standing proud, no edges to snag a jumper or a child's hair. It also sits remarkably low, so it slides under gloves and sleeves without fighting them. On a round brilliant the effect is clean and architectural: a perfect circle of diamond inside a perfect circle of gold.

Considerably. Prongs hold a stone at four or six points and can bend or wear; a bezel grips the entire girdle at once with solid metal. It is the setting jewellers recommend to anyone who works with their hands, wears gloves, or has small children.
The metal rim covers the very edge of the stone, but it also frames it — and because the rim catches light itself, most people find the ring reads as large or larger overall. If maximum visible stone is your priority, a prong setting shows more.
The face of the stone is completely open, which is where most light enters and leaves, so the sparkle you see looking down is unaffected. What changes is side light, and a well cut bezel is made deep enough to allow for that.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
