The piece
About this design
A pear is the shape people choose when they want the ring recognised across a room. The point does that job, and here it is protected properly — a V-prong wraps the tip while slim claws take the rounded end, so the most vulnerable part of the stone is covered in metal rather than left exposed. Below it the shank carries a continuous acanthus scroll in relief with milgrain running along both edges, giving the ring an antique weight that a polished band never has. The inside stays smooth, polished and stamped with the Driona D.

Point towards the fingernail is the usual choice and the more flattering one, because the taper draws the eye along the finger and makes the hand look longer. It is set that way here. Wearing it the other way is purely personal preference and equally correct.
It goes nowhere near it. The scrollwork stops where the setting begins, so the metal holding the pear is solid and undecorated. The engraving lives on the shank, where nothing structural is happening.
A pear is top-heavy, so a thin wire band will rotate on you. This shank is 2.50mm across the full circle, which gives enough contact with the finger to hold its position through the day. Sizing it properly matters more than anything else here.
It runs right up to the setting on both sides and then stops clean. The point of the pear sits in a V-prong above bare metal, so there is no pattern crowding the most delicate part of the stone.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.
