The piece
About this design
Two gold twigs wind around each other the whole way down the band, sculpted leaves growing off them at intervals, and where they meet at the top they open up to hold the pear in six claws. There are no accent stones anywhere on it — every bit of the interest is in the metalwork, which is a harder thing to make and a quieter thing to wear. The pear sits point-down with a V-prong over the tip.

Because they would fight the metalwork. The twigs and leaves already move light around as your hand turns — adding stones between them turns a sculpted band into a busy one, and the pear stops being the only thing you look at.
Yes. The winding is on the outer face only; the inside is a smooth continuous surface against your finger. It feels like a plain band of the same width.
It will look better. The high points of the twigs pick up a soft polish from wear while the recesses stay darker, and that contrast is exactly what makes older sculpted gold look richer than new.
Yellow or rose gold, without question. The whole design depends on reading as wood and leaf, and warm metal sells that instantly — rose gold in particular looks like a living branch. White metal turns it into something colder and more abstract, which is a legitimate choice but a different ring.
Down, towards the fingertip, so the taper of the stone carries on into the twigs below it. That continuity is the point of the design — the stone looks like it grew there rather than like it was set on top.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
