The piece
About this design
A marquise is a leaf shape to begin with, which is why it sits so naturally over this band: a trailing vine cut in relief the full way round, tiny round diamonds bezel-set into it at intervals, milgrain along both edges. The stone's two points are capped with V-prongs and claws hold its widest part. The band is kept to 2.00mm on purpose — a marquise looks longest when there is as little metal as possible underneath it. Inside, the band is smooth, polished and stamped with the Driona D.

They are set at intervals right around the band, so they carry on past both ends of the stone rather than stopping at the shoulders. On a long cut like this, that unbroken line is what keeps the ring from looking front-heavy.

Yes, because the accents are bezelled into the metal rather than clawed onto it, so no material is cut away to make prongs. A rubover collar is the least structurally demanding way there is to set a small stone.
Far less often. A rubover bezel closes metal over the whole edge of the stone, so there are no prong tips to wear thin. An annual look-over is sensible on any ring, but this setting is about as low-maintenance as diamond accents get.

The centre stone is graded by someone other than us
A lab grown diamond over 1.00 carat goes to IGI — an independent gemological laboratory — and is graded there, and its report ships with the piece. Below that weight the accent stones are not individually certified; nobody in the trade certifies melee. We would rather tell you that here than let you open the box expecting paperwork that was never coming.

Check the report against IGI's own database
If your piece came with a report, type its number into IGI's site. It will show you the same stone, graded on the same date. If it does not match what arrived, you did not get what you paid for — and you have thirty days to send it back.

Grown, not mined — and we say so everywhere
A lab grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, and it passes a diamond tester exactly like a mined stone. The only difference is where it formed. You will never find that fact buried in the small print here.
